The Freiburger Weinfest is a beloved annual wine festival held in Freiburg im Breisgau, transforming the Münsterplatz into a lively hub of wine celebration each early July. For six days, around 60 regional wine producers present over 400 wines and sparkling wines from the Breisgau, Kaiserstuhl, Markgräflerland, and Tuniberg regions. Visitors enjoy tastings, local cuisine, and a festive atmosphere with live music and cultural entertainment. The festival is free to attend, and buying the official Weinfest glass helps support the event and partly aids the Münsterbauverein for cathedral preservation. It’s a highlight of Freiburg’s summer, celebrating Baden wine traditions and convivial community spirit.
